Initial situation
Coffee machines can be found at home, in offices, meeting rooms, bars, hotel rooms, etc. The water tank is often either empty or used up. You look for a tap and fill the water tank with the available tap water.
If there is no water connection, you can fill the water tank with still water from a nearby bottle.
The machine and the water tank must be descaled regularly.
The quality of the finished coffee can vary greatly depending on the quality of the water. The coffee drink is a daily luxury. Consumers have a very fine sense of taste and high expectations of the flavour of the drink.
The idea
The aim is to design a water capsule that contains a suitable quality of water and does not rely on a water connection in the vicinity of the coffee machine.
This ensures that no matter where you are in the world, regardless of latitude, you can achieve a consistent coffee quality with a constant flavour thanks to customised water quality. The flavour is always the same.
At the same time, the right water quality can also prevent limescale build-up in the machine.
In addition, water consumption is reduced both in volume and in total, as "stagnant" water in the tank is often poured out and replaced with fresh water before the coffee is prepared.
